The Art of Value Whispering podcast

In this episode of the Driven Female Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk all things Podcasts with Kelly Smith, the host of The Podcast Launchpad, a co-host of the Geek Girl Soup Podcast, and the founder of the Women Podcasters Academy.

Kelly's entrepreneurial career has been a spiral; she has worked as a website designer, a copywriter, and a graphic artist. But in 2000, when she was out of work, her business school marketing professor recommended her to a company looking for a marketing consultant, and later decided to try something new and became a life coach.

Eventually, clients and coworkers would subsequently ask her for suggestions for training on how to make podcasts (having 11 years of podcasting experience). She identified a gap in the market and started her own course, community, and coaching business for podcasters.

Today, Kelly supports female business owners in starting podcasts and using the medium to increase their credibility, grow their following, and attract more customers. Ultimately helping them blaze their own trail.

Don't miss this episode as Kelly shares her journey and discusses how to create a successful podcast that helps grow your business.

"80% of podcast listeners finish 80% or more of each podcast episode. In contrast, people spend seconds scanning a blog." - Kelly Smith

Highlights:

In this value-packed episode you’ll learn:

  • The importance of trying things out to see what works.
  • How your failures can help your business growth.
  • Why it’s crucial to just pick one or two marketing tools when starting out your business.
  • The difference between podcasting and blogging.
  • The advantages of podcasting and how to add it in your marketing strategy.
  • Where to start when considering a podcast.

"Questions on social media are extremely powerful, they engage people right away. So asking a question is a highly effective technique for promoting your podcast episodes." - Kelly Smith
