Sandra started her career in educational publishing, she transitioned to teaching and discovered the challenges faced by struggling students. Exhausted by teaching, she moved into tutoring and despite some setbacks, she refused to let failure define her. She collaborated on literacy activity books that transformed into a phonics program, gaining recognition. 

However, when governmental restrictions made her business difficult, it was time to reimagine her approach. Armed with valuable insights, Sandra developed a business model to empower tutors and support their professional growth.

Now, Sandra helps educators worldwide through her innovative approach and phonics system. By leveraging her own past mistakes and understanding the needs of tutors, she has created the ‘Tutor Like a Pro’ membership programme. This membership equips tutors with all the resources and strategies required to deliver effective and impactful tutoring sessions.

About Sandra

Sandra Pyne, is a veteran international teacher, tutor, dyslexia specialist and co-founder of Jigsaw Phonics Tutoring. 

After exiting the classroom herself after a long teaching career, she now helps passionate (but usually exhausted) phonics teachers and early literacy educators to set up their own tutoring businesses. 

On her mission to help children learn to read - one she shares with the educators in her membership - she has found the parallels between education and business have helped her in her own business journey. They are helping her members to lean into their transferable skills - ones they often didn’t realise they even had - to become successful business people too.
